It's 1962 in Key West, and the end of the world is near!
A comedy shot in Key West in 1992 about two boys who frequent the Strand Theater in Key West at the time of the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis. But the big event in town is the arrival of Lawrence Woolsey along with his companion Ruth Corday for the premiere of Mant. This film stars John Goodman, Cathy Moriarty, Simon Fenton to name a few.
Bring the whole family for laughs and love while we revisit Key West during the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis, and the crisis on the silver screen at the Strand! We've gone from half-fish, half-man, to nuclear lizards out of the ocean, to now half-man, half-ant in our Summer Series! Come out and revisit this latest tribute to the 50's B-films, under the starry skies.

MATINEE was well received by film critics and has a 91% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Roger Ebert gave the film three and half out of four stars and wrote, "There are a lot of big laughs in Matinee, and not many moments when I didn't have a wide smile on my face".
New York Times, Janet Maslin wrote, "Matinee, which devotes a lot of energy to the minor artifacts of American pop culture circa 1962, is funny and ingenious up to a point."
